SOLD Black Glass Waterfall Coffee Table by Fiam
Italy 1970s
This modern black coffee table is made of curved smoked glass and aptly named “Waterfall”. The glass structure itself is thick giving the waterfall table a very solid yet elegant look. The table’s surface is smooth and spacious ideally designed for lounge as well as office settings. This waterfall table in black glass is hardly to find! The surface of this table shows some scratches as normal signs of wear and use.
Hailing from the Marche region of Italy, FIAM is a producer of furniture and accessories in curved glass and was founded in 1973 in Tavullia, in the province of Ancona, by entrepreneur, designer and inventor Vittorio Livi. It was Livi to whom we owe the patent for bending glass, which enabled the creation of incredible pieces like the iconic Ghost chair designed by Cini Boeri (1987). The Ragno dining table, made from a single piece of glass, dates back to 1984.
Some of FIAM’s most important pieces are also on display as part of the permanent collection at the Triennale Museum of Design in Milan.
