SOLD Adjustable Chrome Side Table E 1027 by Eileen Gray
Germany, 1980s
This Iconic Design Icon, was designed in the 1920s from the famous Irish Architect and Designer Eileen Gray, features a chrome-plated steel frame with a flat base and a height-adjustable tabletop made of crystal glass that flows like a tray. Unmistakable feature: a vertical chrome rod that serves as a handle and sliding tube and supports the round, height-adjustable tabletop.
Designed in the 1920s it was not until the 1970s that E. Gray brought the piece of furniture to series maturity.
The table got its name after the villa E 1027 “Maison en bord de mer” – which Eileen Gray built for herself and her partner in the south of France.
With a simple metal pin attached to a chain, the height of this side table can be adjusted from 61 to 101 cm.
This E 1027 is from an earlier production from the 1980s. It has a marking on the table foot.
